The First of Many

After having no soiled diapers for two days, Gavin FINALLY decided to let loose all his gastrointestinal fury in a mustard colored diaper explosion! It began during a lunchtime feeding, in which Amy began to hear the rumblings from below. Wisely, she asked for a blanket to cover her lap "just in case." Turns out her motherly instincts are a bit prophetic, because it wasn't long before the stool was seen.

After a few fussy moments, Amy checked again, and the poo was piling up. It wasn't long before it began oozing out the sides, and as Gavin kicked in delighted relief, it began to work it's way up his back, down his thighs, around his front, and all through the diaper covered areas. Needless to say when he was finished, we immediately gave him a wiping down, then tossed him into the bathtub.

All of the delight from relieving his pressure quickly dissipated as he was lowered into the bath water. Like many boys, he seems to delight in getting dirty, and screams bloody murder when getting cleaned up. Needless to say, we were not willing to have little yellow streaks on his legs and feet.

After the inner cleansing and the outer cleaning, he was re-diapered, dressed, and completed his feeding with little fuss. Looks like he's anxious to try making a big mess again.

This was just lovely! Glad Gavin is no longer backed up.

And I must say that Gavin and Elizabeth are twins after bath time. We have the SAME towel! Imagine that.

Hey, I didn't know you guys had a blog too!! I've been slacking lately, but trying to make up for it with facebook pics.

Thanks for the description on the mustard-colored poo. Isn't being a parent awesome?
